AQUA-STAR 38’ AFT-COCKPIT MK 3

GENERAL

All interior teak surfaces to be finished with three coats of sanding sealer and two coats of melamine polish.  Enclosed stowage areas to be painted with two coats of white paint, or carpet lined.  Cabin soles with carpet and carpet fixed to the face of the GRP interior modules.  Locker doors to be in teak frames retained by push catches.  Cabin doors to be in teak with teak frames with quality furniture and retaining catches.  All fiddles to be solid teak of 50mm in height.  All teak faced plys are matched throughout the yacht.

FORE-CABIN

Bulkheads covered with teak faced ply.  Ship side together with coach roof sides and deckheads are vinyl.  A ‘V’ berth with stowage under, access being from above.  Aft and to port is a hanging locker faced in teak faced ply with door.  Teak faced ply shelves to run full length of cabin.  Three small lockers above port and starboard.

FORWARD TOILET

Bulkheads finished with plastic laminate.  Coachroof side and deckhead to be vinyl.  Outboard is a double locker in the GRP module.  GRP vanity surface.  Hot and cold mixer tap plus shower, mirror above and locker below.  The quality marine toilet is piped direct to bronze skin fittings.

GALLEY

Bulkheads finished with teak faced ply together with galley fronts.  Corian work surfaces including curved fiddle. Cooker is a four burner, grill and oven, fridge, aft work surface, stainless steel sinks with hot and cold mixer tap.  Below a single locker above a plate rack.  Extractor fan.

 

DINETTE AREA

Bulkheads finished with teak faced ply.  Coachroof sides and deckheads to be vinyl.  Table to lower to form double berth.  Access to stowage in seating is from the top.  Outboard is a teak faced ply shelf with lockers which run full length of the area.  Aft is a double locker.  Below steps leading to wheelhouse is mounted the pressure pump for domestic water.

WHEELHOUSE

Wheelhouse sides and front together with roof to be finished in vinyl.  Forward and to starboard is a helm position finished in teak face and solid teak fiddles.  The engine controls and switches for navigation lights are positioned here with a 20” stainless steel and wood helm wheel.  Aft of this position is straight seating with stowage under side decks, access being from side, incorporating a drinks locker, TV shelf, chart drawer and movable starboard seat.  Port is a U-shaped settee with rounded corner and table that is capable of converting to a double berth, lift up navigation seat.
 
HULL

Antifouled.  Yachts’ name.

UPHOLSTERY

Seating and mattress to be in 5” foam with 2” x 3” backrest covered in dralon and button (colour from sample supplied).  Carpet to be in marine water resistant type (colour from sample supplied).  Curtains on all windows and portlights to match upholstery with pelmet tops.

DECK

Side deck and forward coachroof covered with non-slip finish moulded in.

DECK FITTINGS

4 ‘D’ section fendering with timber hull protection aft.
Bow roller in stainless steel with roller.
1 x 15kg anchor with 4 fathoms of 5kg chain and 15 fathoms of 16mm 3 strand warp.
1 Seawolf windlass with deck switch.
Double rail in 1.25” stainless steel.
Boarding ladder in 1” stainless steel.
2 Deck fillers, (1 water, 1 fuel).
6 Moorings bollards.  2 Fairleads.
6 Grab handles in stainless steel (2 coach roof, 4 wheelhouse).
6 Tannoy ventilators on coach roof.
2 Hatches.
8 Portlights (toilet and galley to open).
7 Fixed wheelhouse windows in 6mm toughened glass with 2 sliding and door aft to cockpit.

ENGINES

2 x Volvo TAMD 42 230hp on flexible mounts.
Flexible inboard bearings with bronze ‘P’ brackets.
Couplings plus 3 bladed propellers.
Hydraulic steering to wheelhouse with 20” stainless steel wheel.
Trim Tabs with control.
Instruments and engine controls.
2 x 150 gallon approximate fuel tanks with primary fittings.
Sound proofing under side saloon floor forward and aft bulkhead.
1 Automatic Fire Extinguisher 4kg.

ELECTRICAL

2 x 130 a.m.p.  3 x 90 a.m.p. deep cycle domestic batteries
1 Alternator starter per engine.
1 Electric Bilge Pump with float switch.
1 Electric pressure pump (20psi).
3 Windscreen wipers (Pantograph).
Port, starboard, stern and steaming navigation lights.
8 Interior recessed fluorescent lights (2 x 8 watt) or Halogen.
2 Berth lights.
1 Flexible Chart Light.
2 Cathodic Sacrificial Anodes wired to stern gear and bottom skin fittings.

GAS SYSTEM

1 x 10lb Calor Gas bottle with regulator stowed in drained lockers on aft deck.  Piping in copper with flexible ends.  Gas tap by cooker.

PLUMBING

All waste and sea water pipes are reinforced PVC.  Fresh water pipes are non-toxic polythene.  All flexible pipe connections are made with stainless steel hose clips.  Hull exits are through bronze skin fittings with lever valves.  Hot and cold pressurized system with hot water from 12 gallon calorifier fed from engine cooling water plus 240 volt heating element (wired to ring main special extra).  Manual bilge pump (13gpm) mounted in aft deck locker opposite gas locker, pick up on main bilge and discharged overboard.
